Benefits Of Ceiling-Mounted Patio Heaters And Tips For Using Them

Do you hate that your patio becomes virtually unusable once the weather turns cold? If you were to install a heater, your problem would be solved! Today, there are more options for patio heaters than ever before. One of the top choices is heaters that mount to the ceiling. Here are a few benefits of choosing a ceiling-mounted patio heater, along with some tips for using one properly.

Benefits of Ceiling-Mounted Heaters

The number one benefit of choosing a ceiling-mounted heater is that it is out of the way. You don't have to worry about someone bumping into it and knocking it over as you would with a standing heater that sits on the floor. The heater won't take up space on the patio either, which means you have that much more space for grills, chairs, tables, and other useful items.

A ceiling-mounted heater is safer, too. You won't have to worry about someone accidentally setting something flammable, like a paper plate, on the heater. As long as your patio ceiling is reasonably tall, you won't have to worry about anyone burning themselves by touching the heater. This is especially a benefit when you have kids.

Ceiling heaters also do a better job of scattering the heat over the whole patio. Instead of having the heat all coming from one corner, it will be directed out over the whole patio.

Tips for Using Ceiling Patio Heaters

To make sure your heater is as effective as possible, you'll want to mount it in the very center of your patio's ceiling. If you have a very large patio, look into getting two heaters. You can mount them a few feet from one another in the center of the ceiling.

Check to ensure that the mounting hardware that comes with your heater is strong and sturdy. Hardware made from metal is safer than that made from plastic — it is less likely to break and cause your heater to fall down.

Also make sure your patio ceiling is in good condition. It needs to be able to support the heater. If it is cracking, showing signs of rot, or simply not put together well, hire a contractor to fix and reinforce it before you put the heater up.

When your patio has heat, you can truly use it all year long! Look for a nice, ceiling-mounted heater, install it, and start enjoying your patio time again.
